An Introduction to the Tourism Education Alliance of the Maritimes (TEAM)

WHO:  Tourism Education Alliance of the Maritimes (TEAM) began in 2014 with a vision to invest in the next generation of Tourism & Hospitality Management professionals in Atlantic Canada. Members of our industry have come together to drive TEAM’s strategic direction. TEAM is a legally established independent Nova Scotia not-for-profit society.

WHY: The strength and viability of our tourism and hospitality management sector is fundamental to the health and prosperity of Atlantic Canada. Together, we are investing in the future of our next great leaders and their contributions to our region.

HOW: This year’s event, themed ‘Destination Mi’kma’ki: Celebrating Indigenous Tourism’, in support of Mount Saint Vincent University’s Tourism and Hospitality Management Program, will take place on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 at 6:00pm.  We anticipate this event will bring together 200+ industry professionals from tourism and hospitality management and the broader community and will provide the opportunity to network with over 25 current Mount Tourism & Hospitality Management students and future leaders. Funds raised are used for the program enhancements, recognizing student achievements, supporting students with financial need, and providing students with opportunities for professional development. We are also dedicated to supporting students with financial need as well as providing them the opportunity for professional development including attendance at annual volunteer and educational tours. Mount Saint Vincent University prides itself on experiential learning in the classroom and through partnerships across multiple sectors. These initiatives not only advance tourism education and talent, but also invest in success of the sector here in Atlantic Canada.
